Mark your calendars for October 25th and 26th of 2008.  By popular demand the VANA Fall Conference is returning to Wintergreen Resort.  Come join your friends in this mountain resort for a breath of fresh air and earn 12 CEUs.  This exciting day and a half program will provide updates and new topics for our members.  In addition to the program for our members, the resort is also sponsoring Halloween Spook-tacular - a family oriented weekend of pumpkin carving, chairlift rides, a haunted house and apple cider.   This should be a great weekend to get out of the house and come to the mountains for a last chance to fully enjoy the fall colors with friends and family while satisfying your CEU requirements, as well as updating your own knowledge base.

Speakers and topics include our own AANA President-elect Jackie Rowles, discussing both AANA Updates and Current Issues In CRNA Pain Management; Captain Jason Bolt will discuss Deployment Anesthesia in Afganistan: A Military and Humanitarian Experience; Louise Hershkowitz discussing Anesthesia Concerns For The Bariatric Patient; Michelle Satterlund presenting the Virginia CRNA Protocols, What CRNAs Need To Know; and Dr. Elizabeth Monti-Seibert presenting DNP/DNAP Developments and Evidence-based Practice.  In addition Dr. Rana Morris will present both How New Science Will Change CRNA Practice in the Near Future and How to Find Evidence to Utilize in Your Practice and Dr. Ashley Shilling will discuss SonoSite Enhanced Regional Anesthesia with a follow on hands on workshop.  We will also have our current student presentations.

I am excited to have such a wide range of topics and dynamic speakers.  Watch your mail for the registration forms.  They will also be downloadable from our website.  I look forward to seeing you in October!
