Legal - Employment Contract ReviewLegal review of new employment contracts, terms, etc. I am happy to announce a new and valuable benefit available to VANA members: Two well-known health care law firms in Virginia have offered to provide legal guidance regarding CRNA employment contracts for those CRNAs who are members of VANA. In recent months, many VANA members have contacted our office for help in understanding some of the new and complex clauses cropping up in recent CRNA employment contracts. Issues such as non-compete agreements, insurance tails, and benefit limitations, etc. are becoming increasingly more complicated, and while it is always best to consult an attorney before agreeing to an employment contract, finding a knowledgeable and interested attorney can be difficult and expensive. Now VANA members have access to two lawyers who are experts in employment and CRNA issues, and who are available quickly and at a reasonable price. Here is how it works:Contact one of the attorneys listed below. The attorney will ask a few preliminary questions to screen for any potential conflicts with other clients, and to ensure you are a member of VANA. Once the conflict check is completed, the attorney will then forward an agreement that you can sign and return along with the employment contract in question. Once those steps are completed, the attorney will perform a preliminary review of your employment contract and discuss this preliminary review with you (either in person or by telephone) for up to an hour's time. You will be charged a flat fee of $200 for both the preliminary review and the hour-long discussion. If you desire further legal help, such as negotiating changes to the employment contract, you are welcome to discuss these additional items with the attorney at the attorney's regularly hourly rate.
